At the present the Columbia Chapter roster lists 210 members. This number includes some deceased Perpetual Members. Both the National Organization and the Columbia Chapter encourage personnel to become Perpetual Members. To become a Perpetual Member requires the payment of a one time charge (which can be paid in installments) and the individual is relieved of paying the annual membership fee. Once enrolled as a Perpetual Member, the individuals name will remain on the rolls of both the Chapter and the National organization for as long as the organization exists. Chapter officers are elected by the membership for a one-year term, beginning in June of each year. All officers are eligible for re-election, but it is customary in this Chapter for the Commander, the Vice-Commander, and the Adjutant to serve one year and then to be relieved for at least a year before being re-elected.
